The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires all packaged foods to have a food label displaying nutritional information.  Understanding how to read a Nutrition Facts Label allows you to compare different foods and make choices that are right for you and your family.

Four simple steps to follow are:

  1. First, look at Serving Size information
  2. Understand the Calories in relation to Serving Size
  3. Examine the Nutrients listed
  4. Finally, check the Percent Daily Value (%DV) of what you are eating

The new and improved Nutrition Facts Label is easier than ever to read.  Watch this short, simple video to learn more: Nutrition Facts Label
