April is Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Awareness Month:

1 in 7 people are affected by IBS.

An Australian research team at Monash University developed a dietary management approach to control symptoms associated with IBS: the Low FODMAP Diet.

The Low FODMAP diet requires the expert guidance of a trained dietitian.

FODMAPs (fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols) are a collection of short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that aren't absorbed properly in the gut, which can trigger symptoms in people with IBS. Watch this short video to understand FODMAPs.

Research has found that a Low FODMAP reduces symptoms in up to 75% of people with IBS.

In this simple video a Dietitian Explains the Low FODMAP Diet.

Speak to your physician to find out if a Low FODMAP diet is right for you!
