Celiac Disease

Nourished FestivalNourished Festival

Celiac disease affects 1% of the population of the Unites States.  That means at least 3 million people in America are living with celiac disease.

When people with celiac disease eat gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, their immune system responds by attacking their small intestine and preventing the absorption of important nutrients.  Celiac disease is an inherited autoimmune disorder.

A law was passed in 2006 that made it possible, for the first time, for people with celiac disease to read a food label and determine in a few simple steps if a product is safe to eat. There are now more that 2,000 gluten free products available in the United States.

The Nourished Festival is an event for those living or wanting to live a gluten-free lifestyle. At the Nourished Festival, participants have a chance to sample and purchase gluten-free products and attend educational classes. Some of the classes being offered include Roadmap to Healing Autoimmune Diseases, Exploring Probiotics - How Probiotics Work and Why They Are Important, and The Missing Link? Your Genetic Link to Gluten Sensitivity, Nutrient Absorption, and Brain Function.

The Nourished Festival will be at The Dallas Market Hall-North Hall this Saturday and Sunday, September 7-8, 2019 from 10 am - 3:00 pm. I hope to see you there!
