28 Jan Walk With A Doc
Many of us made New Year’s resolutions to get healthier. Now that we are a few weeks into 2021, you may need a re-boot to keep up your motivation and energy!
With many in-person Walk With a Doc (WWAD) events around the world being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our incredible docs are hosting virtual WWAD events so that we can remain active and socially connected, even during a period of physical distancing.
Why Walk?
Research has shown that you can gain two hours of life for each hour that you exercise regularly.
Walking as little as 30 minutes a day can:
· Improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels
· Help maintain a healthy body weight and lower the risk of obesity
· Enhance mental well-being
Social Distancing:
Prior to COVID-19, Walk With a Doc was open to the community. Walkers would enjoy a medical discussion followed by a rejuvenating walk with Dr. Mona Dave and her mother, Dr. Kiran Harpavat. Until it is completely safe to walk in large groups again, Walk With a Doc has gone virtual!
Every Saturday morning at 8:00 AM central time, a video is posted where Walk With a Doc Leaders from around the world share important health topics and then go on a walk. Watch Dr. Harper’s video sharing 4 simple ways to make physical activity a regular part of your lifestyle through using the 4 P’s – Priority, Plan, Pen, and Partner.
If you would like more information about gastrointestinal (GI) digestive disorders and nutrition in children, please contact Dr. Mona Dave’s Frisco Office or Request Appointment Here.
